Quite sure we can garner up a meaner, fiercer, capable security service to protect President Trump if the Dems do go through with this. We have plenty of retired Military Veterans who would step up to ensure nothing happens to #47. They have done it to RFK Jr.!!!
What about the protection currently being provided for other past presidents, Carter, Bush, Clinton, Obama and their families as well as any future presidents after they are out of office?? I think the removal of protection is a very dangerous thing! If they have served this country regardless of the political party there will always be those who disagreed with at least some of their actions and decisions.
Removing the protection on one candidate is very short sighted! As well as childish! If your thoughts are childish why on earth did you run for any office in the government? Think how your family would feel if you were hurt or worse with no protection!
For my part; the removal of personal security should be addressed by congress and any bill in acted should be a ballot initiative designated as to who is actually allowed protection and reasonable rejection of that privilege as defined by law and not some punishment for being on the wrong side politically. ( these are dark days when everything becomes a political driven agenda)

The precedent was set long ago and must NOT be altered!
In my opnion, unless this is written for the individual specifically, this will backfire once the protections are also removed from other living previous presidents. I believe the democrats would have a couple of previous presidents lose their security details too.
The protection if for the office not the individual. The idea that protection should be removed because Democrats don’t like Trump is dangerous and could be dangerous for all former presidents now and in the future. In Trumps case it is vital because Democrats are trying to imprison him for doing his job or just being himself. Prison would be a Death Trap and he would need protection from both inmates and staff if ever convicted in one of their sham trials.
That is an absurd idea. It is another example of trying to stop
