Crime sprees have become an undeniable issue in the United States. Countless videos, at this point, show masked individuals breaking into stores, stealing merchandise, and then running off.
Many of these thefts are organized and meticulously planned out. The individuals involved are striking stores in Democrat-run communities like Los Angeles, Chicago, and others.
As time passes, more and more people are beginning to call out these crimes and the problematic nature associated with them. However, believe it or not, there are some folks in America who don’t see an issue.
House Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, for instance, falsely declared that claims of theft aren’t panning out. Retail group leaders were more than happy to correct Ocasio-Cortez, noting the video footage and data documenting these crimes.
Meanwhile, Chicago Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot stated the real issue here isn’t the criminals robbing these establishments, but the retailers for not having enough protective measures in place.
On Tuesday, the White House put some distance between itself and these remarks from Ocasio-Cortez and Lightfoot, as Fox News reports.
The Biden Administration on Crime in America
Yesterday, Jen Psaki, the Biden administration’s press secretary, was questioned about the Chicago mayor and Democrat congresswoman downplaying the existence of violent robberies. To this end, Psaki stated the White House does not “agree” with remarks from Ocasio-Cortez and Lightfoot.

Furthermore, Psaki noted the White House has been collaborating with the FBI and Department of Justice in order to give assistance to city police departments. Finally, the press secretary described the scenes of violent robberies across different retail stores as “disturbing.”
The Root Cause of the Robberies
It’s all well and good for the White House to distance itself from those who choose to downplay what is so clearly well-documented. However, this still doesn’t get to the meat and potatoes of what is really going on here.
At the end of the day, the policies supported and enacted by Democrats are the root cause of mass retail theft. When police arrest criminals, only for those criminals to be later turned loose (with little to no bail), this perpetuates lawlessness.

The FBI and Justice Department can work with city police departments all they want. Until criminals are actually held to account for what they are doing, there’s not going to be any real or meaningful improvements.
By Democrats choosing to treat criminals with kid gloves, they are leaving Americans who actually follow the law in what’s becoming a war zone. The videos of retail theft seen in Democrat-run cities are beginning to rival the looks of third-world countries.
