AOC Largely Caused Current Crime Wave in NYC Subway

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) contributed tremendously to the recent spike in crimes in the subway of New York City.

In 2019, she worked to stop the Metropolitan Transportation Authority from hiring 500 cops for subway patrolling.

Long-term Pro-Crime Stances

In December 2019, AOC and her cohort of leftist extremists penned a letter to the-then Democrat Governor of New York, now-disgraced Andrew Cuomo.

They opposed the plans of the MTA at the time to hire an extra 500 cops from the New York Police Department, whose task would have been to boost security in the subway.

AOC’s pro-crime stance against security in the New York City subway resurfaced now that transit crime has skyrocketed.

This is a development particularly underscored by last week’s mass shooting in a Brooklyn subway that left no fewer than 30 people injured.

In a nutshell, the AOC-led communists argued there shouldn’t be security in the subway of New York City because of what they described as “historic racial disparities in enforcement.”

The Marxists insisted the “desperately needed resources” for security and law enforcement in the subway should instead be redirected towards “maintenance and service improvements.”

Apparently, the security and very lives of NYC commuters weren’t and aren’t of any concern to the leftist extremist crowd.

Ocasio-Cortez and her Marxist colleagues called upon the MTA to “divest” from the “model of criminalization” – because under their own model of race-based “class warfare”, a crime is no crime if committed by a person from the “right” population category.

AOC Deems Policing ‘Dangerous’ for Crime

Back in December 2019, AOC posted proudly her Marxist-Communist letter in support of subway crime. She insisted the hiring of additional police officers would mean “punishing the poor.”

She even went so far as to suggest the MTA has a “dangerous policing policy”, which had to be ended.

The 2019 letter appears to have been a big start for AOC’s anti-police crusade. In 2020, she became extremely active in the “defund the police” policy of the far-left.

The “defund the police” push became particularly frantic after Marxist leftists decided to make use of the murder of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police in order to push their anti-public safety agenda.

Back in 2020, AOC advocated openly for slashing $6 billion out of the NYPD’s budget because it would be better given the New York City Housing Authority and public housing.

The results from AOC’s Marxist demands has been quick to appear, with subway crimes in NYC jumping by 55% last month, year on year, from 118 crimes in March 2021 to 180 in March 2022.

Last week, there were 39 transit crimes, compared with 15 in the same period of 2021, an increase of 160%.

In the second week of April, there was also a 20% increase in felony assaults, and a 45% spike in overall crime.
